The ANFC program is designed for nurses who are new to foot care or who wish to update their knowledge and skills.
This course is for Advanced Nursing Foot Care nurses (NP’s, RN’s, LPN’s) who wish to update or refresh their current foot care knowledge and skills.
This program is designed for students who have been working in the role of a PSW but have not received formal certification.
Designed for Certified/Regulated Healthcare Providers who wish to be certified to provide basic foot care. Students will need to have an Advanced Nursing Foot Care Nurse (ANFC) as a resource to be enrolled in this program. We are happy to share potential ANFC options.
The Laser Safety Officer (LSO) Certificate Program at the Atlantic College of Applied Health Sciences (ACAHS) prepares learners to manage and oversee the safe use of medical, aesthetic, and industrial lasers in compliance with Canadian and international safety standards.
This program is intended to provide Personal Support Worker (PSW) Nurses with the theory and best practice guidelines to prepare for medication administration in their Workplace setting. Graduates from this program need to work within their scope of practice, as outlined by their province/territory and facility of employment.
This course is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the concept of narrative care and equip them with the skills and knowledge to practice narrative care in various settings.
Provide care that is intimate, collaborative, responsive, calculated and at times, vital to an individual's well-being.
The Personal Support Worker Foundations (PSWF) program is a 320 hour program designed to prepare students to work at an entry level Personal Support Worker (PSW) in the community.
The Resident Attendant (RA) program is a 400 hour program designed to prepare graduates to work as caregivers in long term care settings. Graduates will qualify to bridge into ACAHS’s Personal Support Worker (PSW) Diploma program within 2 years of graduating from the RA program.
ACAHS guides each student through the enrollment process to ensure he/she meets all criteria upon registration. Financial Aide/Planning, precertification requirements and academic resources are some of the more common discussions.
Each curriculum is self-paced and provides learning resources designed to ensure student success. Learning resources are included in the tuition so that ALL students have ALL resources to meet their objectives.
ACAHS has partnered with facilities in Canada to deliver student’s clinical experiences in their communities.
Laboratory experiences are provided by Virtual Simulation Learning (VSL) available in French and English that align with the content in the Moodle Classroom. In person labs are conducted at our Fredericton Campus or with one of our long term care facility partners.
ACAHS has embedded tools and resources throughout our programs that provide seamless and, at times, anonymous support. Staff may be reached via phone, text, Zoom, Google Meet, Whatsapp or email. We offer support Monday through Friday 9am-5pm.
ACAHS wants our graduates to be successful in their field of study as well as successful in life. That is why we have partnered with Enriched Academy for each student to have lifelong access to financial literacy; Caring Support to provide our graduates and employers a platform to connect healthcare workers with healthcare employers all over Canada and Telus Wise to teach students how to remain safe in the digital world. We also are partners with Wellness Together Canada so students have access to Wellness support resources and professional advice.
